FAQs

  • If you have never trained in aerial, you’ll sign up for an intro or beginner class to start, where we'll introduce you to some basics in Aerial Silks, Hammock and Lyra (Aerial Hoop)!

If you are an experienced aerialist, please see the “Class Descriptions” page for an overview of levels for silks and lyra. It is our opinion that people often do not fit strictly into one level…if you are a new client at Elevation, please contact us and we can advise you where to start based on your experience!

  • Nope! All of our instructors will teach you foundation skills and correct technique. But they are also artists, and we believe they do their best work when we let them do their thing! All classes will follow our particular program structure (see the “Our Program” page for details), but beyond that, content is at their discretion. They all have different strengths and unique styles of movement, and we believe our clients benefit by learning from a variety of talent!

If you have any injuries please let you instructor know so that they can modify content for you accordingly.

  • Leggings and a tank top or t-shirt usually work best. Having a long sleeved layer for certain moves and warm-ups is also a great idea.

Clothing with zippers can be worn for warm-ups, but cannot be worn when on the silks (they can snag and rip the fabric). Likewise, rings/watches/bracelets and other jewellery cannot be worn on the silks…it is recommended that you leave these items at home.

  • We hear this a lot. You are stronger than you think, and you will build muscle as you train! Aerial is also a fantastic core workout!

  • Yes! Just follow the roundabout to the back of the building and you will find ample free parking.

  • Yes! Please arrive to class a few minutes early if you need to change.

  • Yes and Yes! Cash is a 9 year old rough collie, and he hangs out at most of our classes. Cash loves people…he is well behaved and very gentle.

We like to be upfront about the fact that we have a dog around…but we also get that not everyone is a dog person. If you are uncomfortable around dogs or have allergies, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you, if possible.

(But for those of you who are dog enthusiasts, Cash is up for snuggles and selfies anytime, FYI!)
